Accident Zombie is an illustrated collection of poems by Zachariah Chamberlaine. The poems were performed in Helsinki at spoken-word and music events in 2022–2024, and they explore the themes of these programmes from a variety of perspectives.

Many reflect on personal experiences past and present, while others take a wry look at the absurdities of modern life. Their moods range from funny to philosophical and serious to silly. Each poem is illustrated with a collage-based artwork whose style and approach varies to reflect the mood and subject matter of the poem.

The book’s title comes from one of the poems. The accident zombie is a symbol of human attitudes, and particularly in these times of environmental and political upheaval: we seek distraction in our digital devices, and amble around oblivious to the outside world, causing havoc in our wake while the world crumbles unnoticed around us.
